Tattoo Application

Safety is the primary concern during the  application of a tattoo on the body  nowadays. What tattooing machine is doing to your body is that it creates a wound that makes a puncture on your body. Your skin can be punctured due to this tattoo machine. It might cause any kind of infection or some disease. Your danger of getting infected increases as soon as you get a wound on the skin.

Autoclave is the best-known equipment nowadays to sterilize a tattoo on the body. Autoclave is a special kind of equipment that consists of steam, a pressure unit and a heating unit which maintains a temperature of 132 degrees Celsius and pressure for about  15 minutes under a weight of 7 kilograms it also has a temperature of 121 degrees Celsius under 5 kg of weight for a time period of 30 minutes. Most of the autoclave equipment starts with 55 minutes cold start to ensure that there is complete sterilization. The possibility of reducing the contamination is enhanced by using the ink cubs, needles etc. Once the needle bar is properly sterilized then there is no room left for any kind of contamination. They are placed in special kind of pouches with indicator strips over them and they are left in the autoclave to form a circle. The color of the indicator strips are completely changed  as the sterilization process completes. This whole process completes before the customer enters into the room. The process cannot be seen by the customer. The only thing the customers will see would be the pouch in which the needle bars are sterilized.

Furthermore, the contamination of clip cords, bottles of spray and the tattooing machine is prevented by covering them with plastic bags. To further reduce the danger of contamination the artist will wash his/her hands properly and disinfect the area with EPA approved disinfective machine. The artist must put on non-contaminated gloves and must follow some of the special guidelines that are stated as follows:

1. He must put new plastic bags over the spray bottles and over the tattoo         machine.
2. Put in new ink in the tattoo machine and take out the old one.
3. Clamp brand new autoclave equipment that is sterilized with the tattoo machine.
4. He must disinfect the area and shave the area that is to be tattooed.

These are some of the guidelines that an artist must follow before he starts making a tattoo on the body. A person who is eager to have a tattoo on his/her body should not be under influence of drugs or alcohol and the artist will not place a tattoo on such a person. After the completion of the whole process, the artist applies a bandage over the tattooed area so that the bleeding stops. It is also applied so that the ink dries quickly and does not spread on your clothes. The bandage applied on the area of tattoo is to be taken off after 2 hours.
