Tattoo Removal Options

If it is so then do not worry because there are many around the globe that are like you and want to finish off this mark from their skin. It is true that the tattoo mark is permanent and it is not possible to clear off all the ink from the skin. The pigment is injected in the skin and then it is hard to remove it. It doesn’t matter whether you have a large tattoo or a small one, the mark cannot be removed permanently. Therefore it is always suggested before having a tattoo that you deliberate on the matter a lot because when you decide to have it removed then you can never have the original color of your skin back.
There are certain tattoo removal techniques which claim to remove the tattoos completely, but some medical experts do not believe it to be true. These experts say that the artificial pigments which are injected in the body settle in the skin forever. Though people are using these techniques a lot with favorable results, even then it leaves scars on the skin. Also, it does not bring the color of the skin back to its original form. The removal of tattoo also depends on certain factors which are:-
- Location of the tattoo.
- Size of the tattoo.
- Nature of design, whether it is simple or complex.
- How quickly the skin heals.
- Tattoo’s lifespan.
- How good the tattoo is made.
It is difficult to remove a new tattoo as compared to old ones. Let’s have a look at different tattoo removal techniques in use today:-
- Excision. Tattoos of small sizes are normally removed by using this technique. It involves a process which removes the entire portion of the skin containing the pigments. Therefore it cannot be used on large tattoos. Though the process demands from you to sacrifice some portion of your skin, but it does guarantee that the tattoo will be removed permanently and completely.
- Dermabrasion. The process is not new to medical science but is new to tattooing field. It has been used for long to remove impurities from the skin. The method has been successfully used to remove tattoo pigments. In this method an abrasive instrument is used which functions like a sandpaper. It is used on the part having the tattoo and it peels of the skin from that place. Bleeding might take place and the healing process depends on the gravity of the treatment.
- Laser. This process does not involve the removal of skin. A laser light is used in this method to break down the pigments. The broken pigments are then removed by the body mechanisms from the area which is treated. Several treatments are required for the process to complete.
- Salabrasion. It is probably the oldest method in use for tattoo removal. The skin is abraded mechanically. In this method the dermis layer is subjected to the treatment for abrasion.
Doctors declare that a standard procedure for removal of tattoos cannot be used because of the different types of inks being used for tattooing. Each ink has it own property therefore the removal methods are different. |
